Grand Central Racquets
In May of 1992 Grand Central Racquet opened in Grand Central Terminal as a tiny kiosk space with a "Same-Day Service" promise for Metro North commuters: drop your racquet off on your way to work and pick it up-freshly strung-on your way to the train!
6 years later we took over the old Tennis Week store located on 44th Street between Madison Avenue and Vanderbilt, giving us a (slightly) bigger space along with an above ground presence to capture pedestrian traffic along Madison Avenue. We were able to offer our loyal stringing customers the latest models of racquets from the top manufacturers and we diversified our merchandise to include squash equipment and shoes.
Since then Woody Schneider, the owner of Grand Central Racquet has been recognized by top reviewers for his expertise and knowledge of all racquet sports - tennis, squash, racquetball, badminton and platform tennis.
