Originally invented in 1928 in Scarsdale, New York, Platform Tennis is a cold-weather sport played outdoors during the winter. A Platform Tennis court is one-quarter the size of a tennis court and is surrounded by chicken wire. Balls can be played off the fencing to remain in play. The paddle has 87 holes, 3/8 inch in diameter to provide aerodynamics, while the ball is spongy and is 2.5 inches in diameter.
